Magician To Present A “Magical History Tour”
Magician Jonas Cain will present a magical history tour at the Hooker-Dunham Theater on Sunday April 23 at 1pm with his new interactive show 4000 Years of Magic! This production will feature famous magic stunts from throughout history.
“I was inspired to write this show after hearing of the recent untimely passing of a prominent magician,” Cain said. “I regularly perform material that I learned from Daryl, and have never lived in a world without him. The experience left me wondering what to about it. Of course the answer was to do a magic show!”
Cain says that guests will experience magic that once entertained ancient Egyptian Pharos, take part in a baffling card trick performed while escaping from a straightjacket, and witness firsthand a magic trick that a 19th century French magician once used to to quell an Algerian rebellion by the Marabouts. “These are all pieces that magic masters of the past either created or popularized,” he said. “4000 Years of Magic honors those magicians by performing these pieces once again for the modern audience.”
Jonas Cain is a native of Massachusetts and studied magic at the prestigious McBride Magic and Mystery School in Las Vegas, NV. He has performed in and around New England for over twenty years, and is a regular visitor to Brattleboro with monthly performances at the Hooker-Dunham Theater and guest presentations at the River Garden’s Brown Bag Lunches series.
The Hooker-Dunham Theater is located at 139 Main St. in Brattleboro. If you plan to go, tickets are $12 and will be available at the door, or you can reserve tickets by calling 800-969-9778, or visiting www.jonascain.com/events.
