Taste the One and Only

Downtown Brattleboro is home to some of the most diverse eating, dining, and brewery options around, all within a few short blocks of each other.

With a focus in the area on fresh and local foods, it’s easy to see why so many choose to make this a foodie destination.

If you’re in the mood for local craft beers and crave a fun atmosphere (often with live music), and River views, you can take it all in at Whetstone Station Brewery’s Bier Garten.

If you prefer the always-changing views of Main Street and High Street (people watching at it’s finest), Duo Restaurant combines world-class dining with local ingredients to deliver a great experience. Across the street, Thai Bamboo delivers authentic Thai in southeastern Vermont, overlooking the always lovely Pliny Park.

Tastes from around the world, fabulous views, and more await you in Downtown Brattleboro!

Looking to “taste” some of the local entertainment? Brattleboro also offers a lively nightlife- with live music and performances nearly every night of the week. Our events calendar will help guide you towards many of our upcoming events too.

Nightlife Downtown

The fun and lively nightlife in Brattleboro reflects the towns interesting population of artists and entrepreneurs. Like any good night out, if you take a bunch of fun and passionate people and put them together with great food and drink, the result is both unpredictable and fun.

Whetstone Station is known across the country as a mecca of great beer (over 60 craft beers) with unbeatable river views, especially from their outstanding Bier Garten! Thursday nights features live music and other evening festivities include trivia nights, community pint nights, and more. Localvores love duo Restaurant’s focus on fresh, seasonal fare paired with local beers & local distilled spirits. For something slightly more exotic, there’s Turquoise Grille, just two doors down, for wonderful burgers with a middle eastern twist.

Over at the Blue Moose Bistro, chef/ owner Ken Flutie is always busy whipping up his famous Italian delights, like his Nonna’s meatballs. Peter Havens is one of the best known restaurants with a great bar for appetizers.

Want to meet the locals and try some local beer and have a nosh while you do it? McNeil’s Brewery has won several national awards and was one of the very first micro breweries in the country. All of their beer is brewed right on the premises and if you time it right you might meet the world famous brewer at the bar.

Flat Street Pub serves great pub fare with a twist and has 13 taps with (mostly) local and a few nationally known micro brews.

Hazel has some of the best BBQ in the region thanks to their proprietary wood-smoke formula and local beers on tap, along with their NY-style pizzas.

If you want that “cheers” bar that can substitute for your living room, Kiplings is your place. Jill and Kip behind the bar will have you feeling like a local in no time with great food to boot.

Finally, if you want a late night out where the beer is cheap, the people are fun and you want that feel of being in a friends basement (in a good way!) try Arkham. You wont be sorry.

Whether you want to go high brow or low, or somewhere in between, come home to Brattleboro, even if it’s just for the night.

What People Say

“The great thing about the nightlife in Brattleboro is how quickly I feel like one of the gang. In my first hour the bartender knew my name and drink, and I was pals with the local sitting next to me at the bar.”
