Our Mission

To nurture and support the vitality of downtown Brattleboro through community and economic development.

ABOUT THE DBA

Founded in 1999 as Building a “Better Brattleboro” and then renamed in 2014 to Downtown Brattleboro Alliance (DBA), we are the official non-profit Designated Downtown Organization for the Town of Brattleboro. We are one of 24 downtown organizations in the state of Vermont, and a fully accredited National Main Street America program. This designation provides access to grants, technical assistance, and networking opportunities. Our programming is funded by grants, donations and a special assessment tax on downtown properties in the Downtown Improvement District.

As a member-driven organization, Downtown Brattleboro Alliance uses membership fees to support the vibrancy of the downtown community and drive economic and cultural growth.

The DBA represents more than 90 businesses and organizations and is led by a volunteer Board of Directors which includes local business owners, property owners, educators, and town representatives.  The DBA has a staff of 1.5 and many incredible volunteers.
